First Annual Big Lake Ice Fishing Derby and Raffle

When: Saturday, March 19, 2011
Time: 10 am to 4 pm - 10 am shotgun start...

Around 200 participants dropped lines into Big Lake on Saturday March 19th for the first Big Lake Ice Fishing Derby. The weather was perfect and the fishing even better.

Six winners in two categories were recognized.

Dolly Varden:

First Place - Steve Totten with a 26.75- inch fish
Second Place - Jim Wallace at 25.75 inches
Third Place - Kylie Hamilton with a 22.50 inch fish.

Rainbow Trout:

First Place - Tyson Sena 17.50 inch fish
Second Place - Mike Bosch 16.50 inches
Third Place - Jeff Olsen 16 inch fish.

Of the 27 fish caught and measured at the tournament, 25 were released back into the lake alive.....
